PCMC bags cleanliness award

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation bagged the first prize under the Sant Gadgebaba Nagari Swachhata Abhiyan, an urban cleanliness awards programme. The prize includes a cash award of 35 lakh, a memento and a citation. The Maharashtra Government had organised the clean city competition in two groups. The criteria for the competition were water supply and management, sewage management, toilet management, public health, open defecation-free city, solid waste management, civic amenities, environment, road development, beautification and implementation of development plan, removal and prevention of encroachments, education amenities, human resources, financial management and good governance.
