PMC Revives Ti Toilet Project

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is revitalizing its Ti Toilet initiative, a project aimed at providing clean and accessible public restrooms for women. The corporation has recently issued tenders for the refurbishment and maintenance of mobile toilet buses, addressing concerns over their deteriorating condition.

Launched in 2016, the Ti Toilet project was a pioneering initiative that repurposed old PMPML buses into mobile toilets equipped with essential amenities like sanitary pad disposal machines and hand sanitizers. These buses were strategically placed in high-traffic areas across the city. The PMC is now taking proactive measures to maintain these facilities and ensure the smooth functioning of these essential public services.

By refurbishing the mobile toilet buses and appointing a dedicated contractor for their operation and maintenance, the PMC aims to provide women with clean and hygienic restroom facilities, enhancing their overall experience in the city.
