Removing old & stubborn water marks

In a flagship property of a reputed Indian hotel chain, Buzil Rossari team was confronted with a challenge – to remove old and stubborn hard water stains from bathroom fittings and glass.

The products in use were giving partial solution, at best and it was a lingering concern for the Housekeeping Manager.

For bathroom fittings, made up of stainless steel, Buzil Rossari Team demonstrated the basic cleaning procedure of using Buz Contracalc and Metapol. Buz Contracalc is essentially a liquid descaler which is ideal for cleaning of calcified stainless steel.

Metapol is a metal polish that cleans and polishes. It is aready-to-use product. It cleans heavily soiled and tarnished metal surfaces like stainless steel. A 10% solution of BuzContracalc applied using a foam gun with one minute contact time effectively removed all the hard water marks. Metapol was then applied to clean and polish the surface. Metapol is applied onto a damp sponge which is used to clean off the soil. It is followed by rinsing with clean water, wiping off and polishing up to gloss with a dry soft cloth.

For routine maintenance cleaning a 1% solution of Buz Contracalc is required followed by application of Metapol to  prevent hard water scale formation and maintain the gloss of the stainless steel surface.

For glass structure at the fountain, Buzil Rossari Teamdemonstrated the basic cleaning procedure of usingBuz Contracalc and Buz Windowmaster.

Buz Windowmaster is a glass cleaning concentrate with very effective anti-soiling properties.

A 10% solution of Buz Contracalc effectivelyremoved all the hard water marks. A 1% solution of Buz Windowmastern was then used for further cleaning of silica, if any and giving anti-soiling effect to the glass surface.

Buz Windowmaster is applied with a window scrupper; dirt solution is removed with a squeegee.

For routine maintenance cleaning a 1% solution of Buz Contracalc is required followed by application of Buz Windowmaster to prevent hard water scale formation and maintain the transparency of the glass surface.

Hard water is water with a high amount of mineral content – of calcium and magnesium salts. When the water dries, the deposits are left behind, leaving unsightly spots on surfaces called scums.

While removing stubborn hard water marks, the Buzil Rossari procedure also helps the stainless steel surface regain and maintain most of its gloss and the glass surface regain and maintain most of its transparency.
