Rentokil acquires pest companies in UAE

In order to revolutionise the industry’s standards in the UAE both in terms of the technology being used and service excellence, Rentokil made its first acquisition in the Middle East region by acquiring the commercial and residential pest control business of Totalai based in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The Middle East, North Africa & Turkey (MENAT) region is an important element of Rentokil’s new market growth strategy as the pest control sector in the region continues to grow and employ more people. Totalai was founded in 2010 and has built up a strong and growing portfolio of major local and international customers spanning luxury hotels, shopping malls, landmark buildings and major FM companies. Rentokil will retain Totalai’s strong management teams who have extensive local sector knowledge and experience in the UAE’s pest control industry.

Rentokil Initial has also made a significant acquisition of US based Western Exterminator Company, a move which makes Rentokil the third largest pest control company in the US. Western Exterminator is the third US acquisition this year after JCV Ehrlich and Presto-X.

Rentokil Initial Chief Executive Alan Brown said the deal would enable his company to “compete more effectively, particularly for customers looking for nationwide coverage in pest control”.
