Australia based Rhino Water Tanks has found a sole distributor in India in Mumbai based Tanclean Pvt Ltd. Speaking CIJ, Harvey Durstun, MD, Rhino Water Tanks said that the company has been present in India since February 2010 looking at the Indian market. With help from the Western Australian Trade Office the company found and formed an agreement with Tanclean™.
Rhino, with help from Tanclean, will first focus on developing the brand and then will look at setting up a manufacturing plant. The company sees great potential in India and finds rainwater harvesting as the biggest market for its tanks. “There is a need for a lot of education here in India as in USA on the importance of rainwater harvesting,” said Durstun. “Once the government passes a Legislation making rainwater harvesting mandatory, the markets would grow manifold. Water storage is an important necessity.” The agreement with Tanclean is expected to give Rhino Tanks a head start in the market and help establish the brand in India and the neighbouring countries.
Sunil Uplap, MD, Tanclean believes that “this is a beginning” and opines “there would be huge opportunities in the country since the demand for water is much high than the supply and therefore, the need for water storage is immense.”
