Samsung’s STAR programme

To address the issue of mounting electronic waste and the unfriendly recycling process that results in pollution, consumer electronics giant Samsung has launched the Samsung Takeback And Recycle (STAR) Programme enabling consumers to call their collection centres to deposit the company’s end-of-life products. Consumers can return any Samsung product from computer monitors to washing machines at the 291 collection centres across India. Consumers residing within the city limits will not be charged anything to take back the used items, but those living outside the municipal limits, would have to pay a small fee.
