Filmop needed some fresh ideas to penetrate the Indian market, but is very particular about who it selects as distributors. The latter need to believe in their products, be ready to invest in promoting innovation, have a well-structured sales team, as well as reliable after-sales service. Last year, Dr Paolo Scapinello, Export Manager at Filmop met Sam Cherian, MD of Schevaran at the Clean India Show in Mumbai. They exchanged ideas once again at the Bengaluru show this year. Cherian says they connected immediately over their shared principles of passion, innovation, education, sustainability, and he was fascinated by their products. Scapinello said, “Once we understood what Schevaran stands for, we knew they were the right choice”.
He added, “With Schevaran, we get to be in touch with our end-users. When people assess the quality of a product, they need to look at the longevity and quality, and the return on investment. We started selling in India 18 years ago, some of our trolleys are still in use. It is the beginning of our relationship with Schevaran; I can only see a bright future ahead.” Cherian concluded, “We are both family-owned companies and we both believe in the importance of training. There is a Filmop way and a Schevaran way; we will combine our strengths and our synergies.”
