Our department is deeply concerned about the cleaning of the premises – indoor to open-to-sky areas. There is a lot of importance and emphasis given to cleanliness and maintenance. The daily schedule determines the overall cleanliness, including cleaning of heavy machines in use, roads and corporate office. We are facing a big challenge in terms of continuous upkeep because the roads are very rugged. Sometimes brushes wear out very soon. We always look out for the best existing technology. From the monthly budget, almost 20% is allocated to cleaning and maintenance.
“The scenario for the future is very good, particularly for heavy industries which emit a lot of dust. There is a conscious effort from most of the manufacturers to meet the need. We are looking for more of indigenous products because in case of imported products – the service and unavailability of parts delay the process. The imported products are more often designed for conditions prevalent in the country manufacturing the product and may not be suitable to local requirement.
“I appreciate the efforts made by Clean India Journal in giving due importance to cleaning which is very encouraging.”
