Steps to improve cleanliness score

The civic body has stepped up its cleanliness and awareness drives in the city in view of Swachh Survekshan 2019. The Municipal Commissioner has asked the health department and the Godavari conservation cell to carry out the cleanliness drive. The administration has also appealed to citizens to help the city score well by participating in the online survey by the Union ministry of housing and urban development started.

Sanitation employees are creating awareness among the public about the survey and importance of keeping the city clean. Cleanliness drives are being carried out at bus stands and railway stations, road dividers and gardens. The administration has put up 40 hoardings and 350 boards for creating awareness, besides printing 14,000 stickers and 1.25 lakh leaflets.

“Our employees are going from door to door to create awareness. They also conduct awareness drives at commercial areas, malls, theatres, etc.,” said health officer Sachin Hiray.
