Simla introduced to mechanised cleaning

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur recently flagged off two sweeping machines for maintaining cleanliness in the capital city of Simla. Manufactured by Dulevo, Italy, they are already successfully operating in various cities such as Chandigarh, Mohali, Indore, Ranchi, Patna, Kohima, Chhindwara, Bhubhneshwar, Faridabad, and Noida.

The two machines are of different sizes to ensure their optimal utilisation in the streets of the city. Shimla Smart City Ltd. has also funded the consumables and spares for one year and standard workshop tools of about Rs 1.30 crore. Both machines are fitted with a BS VI compliant engine and are GPS enabled for effective monitoring of their routes
