The double-engine laundry leader

Sanket Jain and Mayur Bhalgat, Partners, K&B Associates tell Clean India Journal about their strengths and successes.

Tell us about the products in your portfolio.

We are the biggest & No 1 supplier for LG commercial laundry machines pan-India. We offer washer extractors, tumble dryers, auto dosing systems, as well as wet cleaning machines from Speed Queen.

Which market segments do you cater to?

We are specialists in supplying retail laundries that have 300 sq ft franchisees with 10-15 kg capacity machines. We are also the service provider for uniform washing in the food processing industry, dairy industry and pharma industry.

For the latter group, we have cleanroom as well as regular washer-extractors and dryers, with capacity ranging from 30-120 kg. We offer multiple options: we can act as a service provider by investing in and operating such laundries; operate laundries invested in by the client; or simply supply the equipment.

What is the USP of your company?

We have the biggest technical team across India – with 42 technicians – covering every state. Our lead time is below 48 hours for any client.

Tell us about your work with the education sector.

We approach large colleges and universities, and invest in and operate campus laundries. We collect a fee from colleges; colleges are free to charge students as they deem fit.

We do not operate on a per garment/volume basis. Each student is eligible to avail of a certain number of laundry cycles per year. This model is up and running in 25 colleges across India.

What features do your solutions have to reduce consumption of water, power and chemicals?

We use chemicals which require fewer wash cycles. Our machines are also designed to consume less water.

We do not heat water in the machine itself; instead, we manufacture electric and gas geysers which are placed next to the washer, which act as an instant source of hot water. They heat water during rinsing and extraction, and keep it ready for the next batch, thereby reducing wash time.

What industry segments do you plan to focus on in the future?

We will continue to focus on food, pharma, education and retail. Apart from these, we will also explore setting up laundromats in residential complexes and gated communities.
