RMCL’s sweeper for BMC

Roots Multiclean Ltd has recently supplied RS 6000, a truck mounted road sweeping machine, to Bhubaneshwar based Jagruti Welfare Organisation (JWO). The machine is the first cleaning equipment to be put in operation by the Bhubaneshwar Municipal Corporation (BMC), which was launched in August by the Orissa Chief Minister on the Self-governance Day.

Speaking to CIJ, Suvendu Mohapatra, Chief Project Coordinator of JWO, said, “Everyday, the main roads, streets, lanes and by lanes are cleaned but the garbage is back on the streets within a couple of hours. The problem is apparent in most areas of the city, particularly along the bigger roads. While residents in some areas take care to deposit their garbage in bins and others do not bother. It is difficult to maintain every road manually. The machine from Roots will sweep the main roads and sub-main roads. It not only saves manpower but also time and cost.”
