SWM power plant

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority is expected to commission a regional solid waste management plant at Taloja with a capacity to process 2,500 tonnes of solid waste and convert it into power by the end of 2015. The waste collected at a transfer station will be compacted by removing moisture and then taken to the plant for segregation. The biodegradable waste will be composted while the rest will be incinerated to produce 24MW of electricity daily.
