E- Waste: An Emerging Global Threat

Electronic waste (e-waste) is the waste generated out of end-of-life electrical and electronic devices. Due to its increasing volume and severe ill-effects on human health and environment, it has captured global attention. E-waste contains various heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and arsenic. These toxic materials are capable of causing severe ill-effects on health and environment. Management of e-waste is global challenge.
