Use and get paid

In India, open defecation poses a big problem. Chennai based Koushik, a student of Prathyusha Institute of Technology and Management, has invented an ‘electronic lavatory’ that not only addresses sanitation issues but also pays the user. The toilet runs on simple mechanism driven by four motors and can be fixed to both types of toilets. The lavatory has an in-built system to analyse and reward the user according to the quantity of faecal matter. One rupee would be paid for discharge of 100 to 200mg and two rupees for discharge above 200mg. The system could be set up with just 2,000.
