Municipal Commissioner G. Ravibabu, Vijayawada has instructed the officers concerned to prepare a plan for the removal of municipal solid waste as per the rules.
Several unique problems and implementation of the rules related to maintaining sanitation and cleanliness in the city will be taken up under the plan in consultation with sanitation divisional officials.
The current policy on dumping of garbage at different locations, steps needed to put an end to the use of irrigation canals as garbage chutes, particularly for the disposal of empty coconut shells and non-biodegradable waste from footwear manufacturing units are some the salient points of the plan.
