The project, ‘waste plastic to nano-carbon’, initiated by Dr Arup Chatterjee of I-Can Nano has been finally approved technically and commercially by DSIR (Department of Scientific and Industrial Research). Supported by the Government of India, the plant (30TPM capacity) will come up on the land provided by the Delhi Development Authority for nano-carbon production.
The aim of this project is to use nano-carbon towards sustainable technologies like battery/supercapacitor electrodes, fuel cell, water filter, conductive lubricants, nano-composites and conductive paints. This plant will act as a platform for development of further applications in various sectors.
In another breakthrough for I-Can Nano, high heat reflecting water proof paint has been approved for Commonwealth Games 2010 village/stadium.
