What’s new at the world’s biggest cleaning show?

Reconnecting with the international cleaning industry

Clean India Journal at ISSA Pulire 2023

It was a moment of perfect reunion, as the Clean India team spent three days of networking and interaction with the international cleaning industry during the 26th edition of the ISSA PULIRE 2023 international fair at Fiera Milano Rho, Milan, Italy.

Around 373 exhibitors from 21 countries and 20,058 visitors from 107 countries marked the reunion of the global cleaning industry. There was a good mix of products on display, including robotic cleaning, mechanisation with multiple applications, innovative tools & accessories, ultrasonic toilet cleaning, digitalised pest management and more.

During interactions, many exhibitors informed that they were looking at establishing themselves in India and are on the lookout for suitable channel partners, distributors and suppliers in the country.

The conference, held in parallel to the expo, focused on issues related to new problems, procedures and processes, with the aim of sharing experts’ expertise in providing services to sensitive and significant sectors such as healthcare, food serving and hospitality.

The ISSA PULIRE 2023 awards were given out in two categories – Product of the Year Award and Hackathon – Smart Facility: Cleaning Connected to the Future. The third edition of the Product of the Year award, which promotes research and innovation, was given out to XIBU 2WIPE hybrid by Hagleitner Hygiene International GmbH and DRC300Z HEPA – Cordless Robot Cleaner by Makita SpA.

XIBU 2WIPE hybrid, by Hagleitner Hygiene International GmbH, is the world’s first automatic wet wipe dispenser – in essence, it is a touch-free surface-sanitising wipe dispenser that dispenses cloth after cloth automatically, whilst also protecting its contents. DRC300Z HEPA – Cordless Robot Cleaner 18V by Makita SpA is a cordless robot cleaner equipped with a camera and 360° laser radar that can map up to five areas and up to 10k sq metres. The other finalists selected by the international jury were: Bubbleflush Ultrasonic Toilet Cleaner by C.A-L. Italia SRL, Envu Digital Pest Management by ENVU and R3 Scrub by Lionsbot.

Nine teams of university students took part in the first edition of the ISSA PULIRE Hackathon, which aimed at developing an innovative idea involving digital tools that can contribute to achieving ESG goals through the work of cleaners. The jury proclaimed the team sponsored by Papernet, which presented a project that combines nature and technology, as the winner. Second place went to the team sponsored by Vileda professional.
