Zero Waste Campus

Residents of this nondescript village located in Vadodara may be barely educated. But all of them understand the concept of ‘zero waste’. Kakanpur village houses a ‘zero waste campus’ and the tribals want to emulate the project in a small way in their homes too. A boys’ hostel located in the village has become Gujarat’s first campus that does not release any waste. All the waste, including the waste produced by humans, generated inside the campus is put to productive use. The school authorities are planning to replicate the eco-friendly concept in their other campuses across the country.
