Budgetary boost for Patna’s sanitation programmes

Patna Municipal Corporation has allocated Rs. 2,054.33 crore budget for 2024-25, for infrastructure development and management of solid waste, water, and sanitation. The budget includes projects like the renovation of water bodies, the construction of a waste processing plant, and the installation of air pollution control measures. The major projects include the procurement of super sucker machines, 150 auto-tippers, mechanical road-sweeping machines, and a secondary garbage transfer station.

The civic body has developed a chatbot facility, a mobile application, in which people register complaints, track the garbage pick-up vehicles in their respective wards and pay property tax. Installation of liquid trees, smog guns & smog towers, procurement of 150 CNG vehicles, and creation of a construction & demolition plant are all part of the government initiatives. Sanitation programs include the construction of deluxe & modular toilets and the usage of recycled water for Irrigation and general plants.
