Cleaning leads to treasure

Cleaning has many benefits, but that it unearths hidden treasures was discovered when the Guruvayur Devaswom authorities partially cleaned the manikinar (holy well) of Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple, in Kerala. The 30ft deep well provides water for all the rituals conducted in the temple and was cleaned after a gap of 23 years. Cleaning of the well saw the recovery of five cauldrons, 10 bronze idols, 19 silver urns, ancient coins and a few salagramas (holy ornaments).
