Mandatory Hygiene Practices for Eateries’ Trade Licence
n response to numerous
food safety complaints in
Bengaluru, the BBMP (Bruhat

IPalike) is set to overhaul the
trade licence application process
for eateries, incorporating explicit
hygiene requirements. The current
practices are informal and the new
guidelines will enforce mandatory
hygiene standards to get the licence.
The revamped process will
require eateries to provide a
washroom for workers, maintain
better hygiene facilities, and
ensure proper waste disposal. This
