Two surveys conducted by the Ashkin Group, Bloomington, USA, has reported that more shoppers have purchased Green products in 2008 than in the year before.
The study revealed that consumers are willing to pay more for environmentally preferable products than they were in the past.
Of the 9000 consumers surveyed, 34% systematically looked for and selected Green products, up from 32% in 2007. Even if costly, 24% said they would select them, up from 20% a year earlier. The most perceived Green products were organic foods and environment friendly household cleaning products.
The survey also revealed increase in sales of green products by 12% and the number of customers converting to Green cleaning products was up by10%.
