Handicrafts from Waste

Pune based social enterprises eCoexist and Studio Alternatives recently launched a pilot project to produce handicrafts from waste materials like thermocol, plastic bags below 50 microns and aluminium food packets. As part of ‘Green Idea’ scheme supported by State government, the handicrafted items are made by underprivileged groups to help them earn supplementary income. The 7-day drive to collect the waste materials started on June 5.
