Hygiene Rating

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), is going to roll out a new hygiene rating system that will cover all eateries; from small dhabbas to big five star hotels. The rating ranging from one to five will take into account the storage of foodstuffs, cleanliness and how outlets dispose garbage. The deadline for mandatory registration expires in February 2014. Failure to get a licence or get the registration done will lead to a penalty.
