Jharkhand constructs 33.44 lakh toilets

Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi, Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation, has informed Rajya Sabha Member Parimal Nathwani that as many as 33,44,395 individual household latrines (IHHLs) have been constructed so far and 29,564 villages have been declared ODF under SBM-G.

Under Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G) 8,99,15,014 of individual Household Latrines (IHHLs) have been constructed since October 2, 2014 to December 20, 2018 in the country. The Sanitation coverage in the country which was 38.7 per cent in October 2014 has increased to 97.64 per cent in the country by now and total of 5,37,038 villages in the country have been declared Open Defecation Free (ODF).
