(L to R): Akash Dharamsey, MD, ADD Laundry Concepts; Kartik Iyengar, Head Marketing, Diversey; Ramana Rao, Manager, Fabricare, ITC Hotel Gardenia; Chinmoy Chatterjee, Corporate Laundry Head, Leela Hotel, Mumbai and Enric Saavedra, International Area Manager, Girbau at the Laundry Seminar in Clean India Show, 2012

“The Laundry Pavilion at the Clean India Show was very helpful. We had come especially to meet Girbau, as we are setting up a commercial and industrial laundry cleaning company in Guwahati. We were able to gather useful information on dry cleaning technology at the special laundry seminar.” – Maqbul Ahmad, Director, Fabricare Industrial Laundry Companies, Guwahati.

“The special laundry pavilion was very innovative and first-of-its-kind in a cleaning show. It fulfilled a long overdue demand of the growing laundry sector. It gave us the opportunity to network with laundry industry colleagues. If there were more exhibitors with a focus on technologically-advanced equipment, it would have been useful. The seminar was informative, especially the session on Future of Dry Cleaning in India. The panel discussion was very interactive and it helped greatly in the understanding the sector.” – Mahesh Ghatge, Proprietor, Professional Laundry Service, Pune.

“The Clean India Show was the first of its kind shows at such a scale that I had attended. Being new to the industry, my main priority was to gain knowledge on the workings of this segment. The seminars provided valuable guidance. The exclusive laundry pavilion and seminar were beneficial.” – N. Prasad, Administrative Officer, Jayakrishna Textiles, Bangalore.

“The show enabled direct meetings with the procurement heads from the manufacturer’s side. It helped in saving time and ensured a smooth transaction. As we are in midst of expansion, we were looking for laundry equipment and that requirement was fulfilled at the show. Special benefits to visitors sourcing equipment at the show would be a welcome incentive. I would be very interested to attend the Show, when it comes to Chennai.” – Aleemur Rahman P, Partner, Dresscode – Philosophy of good laundry, Chennai.

“Even though there were few exhibitors at the laundry pavilion, we did get exhibitors who had more products to offer, including the calendar with folding machines. The seminar was very useful in terms of information it provided on the laundry sector. The focus was more on the hospitality segment. Being from a hospital, I think many more aspects of laundry could have be included.” – Sachin Kshirsagar, Manager – Catering & Laundry Services, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Pune.

“The seminar touched upon very basic and common topics with relation to laundry. The changing dynamics of this fast growing sophisticated sector needs to be addressed. If more exhibitors displaying new innovations in the industry are present, I look forward to attending the forthcoming show as it provided with a great opportunity to network and build contacts with various players in the industry under a single roof. The show was well organised and planned with well-placed kiosks.” – PK Faisal, Managing Partner, Crystal Clean, Bangalore.

“The exclusive laundry pavilion needs more exhibitors showcasing a variety of laundry equipment. The cleaning chemicals and supplies were also not concentrated in a single place. The seminar done by Diversey was interesting and helpful. The seminar focused on the hotel industry and linens. The laundry sector is developing and the focus should also be on the retail industry as well. I hope to see more international companies operating in India participating in the forthcoming show.” – KN Murthy, Director, Laundrexx Fabric Care India Pvt Ltd.

“The seminar should also touch upon the latest developments in the sector and the exhibition can showcase a variety of products in use. There is a need to make the players associated with the sector more proactive; the enthusiasm was lacking by the attendees. I was looking for chemicals compatible with already in place dry cleaners.” – Haranatha Rao, Laundry Manager, Hilton Hotels and Resorts, Bangalore.

“The laundry pavilion showcased many equipment related to laundry, but the majority of the machines were for large scale operations; my requirement was for small to medium washing machines. The show did a good job of bringing together different players of the cleaning industry.” – Vilas B.C., Proprietor, Ramesh New Power Laundry, Dharwad.
