Mumbai is a melting pot, a metropolis, an urban centre. So, obviously it has shaped me. In that sense people who live and work in cities are similar in many ways whether they grow up in Mumbai or in New York. They’re all urban even if they are culturally different; having grown up in concrete jungles, they have similar attitudes. Mumbai has shaped my outlook. It has shaped the way I speak, the way I dress, the way I communicate or conduct myself. I don’t think I would be like this if I grew up in a small town or a village.
Because I have travelled and got exposed to a lot more, I know there are too many things in Mumbai that cannot be matched with those outside and many things that are outside are not in Mumbai. If only it is made cleaner and more orderly…
