What would I like to change in Mumbai? The infrastructure to begin with. The city has become saturated. But I’m sure, a lot can be done and one has to be optimistic. If we want a quality of life in Mumbai, we have to save the city from deteriorating further. But, there are a lot of hurdles and it is a difficult task to save this city which is drowning in it’s own muck.
Mumbai is a melting pot, a metropolis, an urban centre. So, obviously it has shaped me. In that sense people who live and work in cities are similar in many ways whether they grow up in Mumbai or in New York. They’re all urban even if they are culturally different; having grown up in concrete jungles, they have similar attitudes. Mumbai has shaped my outlook. It has shaped the way I speak, the way I dress, the way I communicate or conduct myself. I don’t think I would be like this if I grew up in a small town or a village.
Because I have travelled and got exposed to a lot more, I know there are too many things in Mumbai that cannot be matched with those outside and many things that are outside are not in Mumbai. If only it is made cleaner and more orderly…
