New development mission to focus on sanitation

Amid The Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM) coming to an end this year and the central government will soon announce a new urban development mission with a focus on sewerage and sanitation. The Union Urban Development Minister, M. Venkaiah Naidu recently said that the detailed plan along with initial and revised cost, date of completion and reasons for delay will be put in the public domain as a measure of transparency. India yet miles to go to accomplish ‘clean India’ mission, but the new plan aimed to develop 100 smart, neat and clean cities will be a milestone in achieving the mission.
