#DriveFresh, an initiative by Oil Marketing Companies to mark World Toilet Day

Oil Marketing Companies (OMC) have announced the launch of #DriveFresh, a campaign to install clean and sanitary toilets at their fuel stations along tourist routes, primarily the National Parks.

The three OMCs formally launched #DriveFresh – clean and hygienic washrooms at 191 retail outlets en route to prominent National Parks including Kanha, Tadoba, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Sunderbans, Manas, Ranthambore and others on the eve of World Toilet Day which was on November 19, 2022.  This was held in the presence of Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas & Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Gangapuram Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region and Shri Rameshwar Teli, Hon’ble Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas & Labour & Employment Govt of India via a virtual conference.

This project was launched as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign for the benefit of tourists and travelers to provide a better customer experience.  The OMC’s IOCL, BPCL, and HPCL have fuel stations across the country, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Karnataka.

Clean, hygienic, and upgraded washrooms have previously been rolled out in 16 OMC retail outlets in Vrindavan and 12 retail outlets in Goa to provide best-in-class convenience to tourists. These gents and ladies’ restrooms have prominent signage, are well illuminated, have running water, a proper latching facility, and are kept clean and sanitary.

This #DriveFresh initiative was launched with the understanding that the country’s National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries are very popular driving destinations, frequented by both domestic and international tourists travelling in personal vehicles and tourist buses, and are important halting points for refueling and using amenities.
