Solid waste lessons

As part of the World Earth Day, some Chennai school students visited the house of Indra Kumar of Home Exnora, a prominent landmark in Chrompet region. The students and school staffs learnt about the importance of solid waste management, rainwater harvesting, recycling of kitchen waste and sewage generated in each house to bring down global warming.

On the terrace of the house, dozen varieties of herbal plants, vegetables like tomato, brinjals are grown with the help of manure generated from poultry, fish & meat waste and organic composting using earthworms.
