Laundry Convention hosted by PDCA

To mark the 49th anniversary of the Punjab Dry Cleaners’ Association (PDCA), a northern summit of dry cleaners and launderers was organised at Karnal in association with the Haryana Dry Cleaners’ Association. On September 14 & 15, titans of the industry shared their wisdom and knowhow during sessions about GST, sustainable cleaning and how to build and sustain multiple outlets, interspersed with interactive workshops and vendor meetings. The chief guest Suresh Bhatia, President of the DLAI, addressed the gathering on uniting the entire fraternity, increasing the knowledge base through training and certificate courses, resolving issues and improving the standards of the industry as a whole.

Under the leadership of Dalbir Singh, General Secretary — PDCA, the organisation has resolved to open training centres for skilled labour by offering certificate courses in Punjab, with the help and support of industry experts.

In 2018, the Punjab Dry Cleaners Association took the lead in organising a pan-India convention in partnership with the Delhi Dry Cleaners’ Association. The product of this initiative was the Dry Cleaners’ and Launderers’ Association of India (DLAI), which consists of industry veterans who represent the interests of all retail, commercial and institutional laundries and dry-cleaning companies across India.
