Painted Walls might affect health

In a latest scientific study, test and analysis conducted by Italy-based Certottica laboratory, it has been found that a large number of enamel decorate paints have a very high level of lead-content violating the norms of the Bureau of Indian Standards. This directly means the walls of your sweet home can be dangerous for you as you very often come into contacts with them.

According to Dr Nata Menabde, WHO Representative to India, the addition of lead compounds to decorative paints poses unacceptable risks and this practice should be stopped as urgently as possible. In a statement, Menabde said necessary steps must be taken to help prevent the hidden risks of lead-exposure. It is worth noting that there is an international mandate to remove lead from paint globally by 2020. Children in the age group of 0 to 10 years are most vulnerable to neurological impacts of lead exposure.
