Know your wipes

In professional surface cleaning, various kinds of wipes are used for fast and effective removal of grease and grime. The choice of wipes differs with the nature of cleaning required – high absorbency wipes for wet surfaces; wipes for streak-free or lint-free cleaning of glossy/glass surfaces and wipes for easy removal of grease and stubborn fingerprints, without chemicals. Wipes and Cloths clean faster than dishtowels or paper towels. Wipes not only clean but also disinfect and are reusable cloths that absorb water much better than the standard dishtowel or paper product. The comprehensive range of wipes includes cloths for every need and every system, from economical semi-disposables to advanced microfibres.

Microfibres

Microfibre provides non-toxic and chemical free cleaning solution. Wet or dry, these microfiber wipes, woven from threads that are 1/100th the size of human hair, lift dust, dirt, and grease from surfaces leaving them streak and scratch free. The dust and direct particles are bonded to the microfibre cloth and are not released until the cloth is washed in hot water; thus the dust and direct particles are not transferred from surface to surface while cleaning.

These wipes also pick up bacteria while cleaning the surfaces. Especially, in the food industry, studies have shown a radical reduction in bacteria levels when cleaning of counters is done with microfibre wipes. Microfibres are best for deep cleaning. One wipe removes grease, any residue or even fingerprints with no scrubbing or drying afterwards. The ultra-fine microfibre wipe scrapes and absorbs dirt from the surface, leaving behind nothing but tiny water droplets. This user-friendly wipe saves time and money without the use of any chemicals in many cases.

Sponge cloths

As the name suggests, sponge cloths are wipes that work like a paper towel and absorb like a sponge. Everything from spills to regular kitchen cleanup, sponge cloth offers superior absorbency compared with traditional cloths and can absorb up to 10 times its own weight in water. For use in all areas where absorbency and spill pick-up are essential, such as everyday wiping of kitchens, toilets and sanitary areas, sponge cloths are best used.

PVA cloth

It is unique damp-cleaning cloths made from high quality PVA material. Resistant to chemicals of leaches, it is washable up to 60oC.

Latex coated cloths

Latex coated cloths give a feel of chamois (a type of porous, non-abrasive leather). They have significantly lower friction and excellent cleaning & absorbency characteristics which make them very easy to use. They are particularly good choice for sensitive, glossy surfaces that demand absolutely lint-free and streak-free result. For example, window and mirror cleaning.

Semi-disposable cloths

Semi-disposable cloths are an effective, economical choice for areas where hygiene is the key concern, such as healthcare and catering environment. Semi-disposable cloths can be used with a variety of cleaning chemicals across a range of applications from spills to heavy dirt pick-up.

Non-woven durable cloths

A dense surface layer, high absorbency and easy to rinse, non-woven durable cloths offer a range of functional properties that keep them fresh and hygienic even after use.

Woven cloths trap dirt in the open weave of their fibres, but dirt particles are unable to penetrate a non-woven surface. They can be easily rinsed away. With little or no dirt particles to feed on, the growth of bacteria and germs is greatly reduced. The cloth stays fresh longer and the high fire density results in capillary action, greatly improving absorbency.

Scourers

Scourers find application in both domestic and industrial cleaning. They come in various materials including steel wool, scrubbing wire and synthetic polypropylene fibres. They have various applications:

  • Cleaning and removing strong strains, rust and grease spots from household utensils, ceramics and glass wares.
  • Cleaning sanitary tiles, kitchen tops, etc
  • Cleaning crockery, cutlery, milk containers, grease pots and pans in restaurants.
  • Smoothing, polishing and shinning rough surface of stones, timbers and floors
  • Preparing wall surfaces before painting
  • Removing salt deposit and other sedimentation during ship maintenance.
  • Cleaning of carbon and gunpowder deposits from the insides of tanks, rifles, cannons and guns
  • Insulating material in refractory and high temperature vessels.
