MSME sector to contribute to India’s growth

Emphasising on the need to develop the MSME segment to fulfil PM’s dream of making India $5 Trillion economy, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and RT&H, plans to raise the contribution of MSME sector to the country’s GDP to 50% from the present 29%.

Inaugurating the MSME Day 2019 celebrations and the second International SME Convention in New Delhi recently, he said that he would works towards generating employment to at least 15 Crore people against 11.1 Crore at present in the MSME sector.

He has proposed creating a new website where people can post new ideas, suggestions and innovations. This will help develop a bank of innovation and ideas where all stakeholders can share their suggestions, technologies, etc. There are also plans to develop a portal for creating a market place where all stakeholders can find demand and supply inputs.
