An expert team from England has developed a cost-effective and environment-friendly Vantage Waste Processor (VWP) for tackling solid waste. The process involves injecting steam into garbage and converting it into bio-ethanol or electricity, thus avoiding landfill. The machine has capacity to process 11 tonnes of waste per hour. The project, which follows the BOOT (build, own, operate and transfer) scheme, requires minimum eight acres of land to construct the plant. The in-built odour control system would prevent odour or any toxins produced from the waste, getting into the air.
