A recent report by European Waste Management declared Germany as one of the European Union’s top recyclers sending nearly no garbage to landfill. Nearly 45% of municipal waste is recycled, 38% is burned and 17% is composted. Besides Germany Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Sweden and the Netherlands have nearly eliminated the waste.
