The New Phase of GROWTH

Mohana M Editor, Clean India Journal October 2026

We are already into the fourth and final quarter of the year, but there is so much happening around us. India's growth is gathering momentum, setting the stage for a parallel rise in demand for cleaning products and professionals to manage the rapidly emerging facilities across Tier II, III and IV cities.

Besides manufacturing, Clean India Journal has been tracking the growing healthcare sector and its expanding cleaning requirements. Growing alongside are the hospitality and tourism sectors, bringing with them new expectations of cleanliness, hygiene and service. More importantly, hygiene issues in restaurants have caught everyone's attention, with raids and closures making headlines. First-hand insights from the FDA and a case study of a hygienic restaurant set the base for this issue. As hospitality and tourism continue to grow, Housekeeping Week was celebrated across hotels, and this issue brings together the voices of housekeepers from different countries, sharing their experiences and perspectives on the profession.

The changing landscape raises important questions. How prepared are cleaning professionals to meet the expectations of an expanding economy? With technology, mechanisation and new approaches to hygiene changing the way cleaning is carried out, the industry has much to learn, adapt to and implement.

This month, the spotlight is also on Clean India Journal, which celebrated its 21st birthday on October 2. Over these 21 years, we have witnessed the cleaning industry evolve, with new technologies, products and professional practices changing the way the sector works. Do experience the changes in products and services over the last two decades.

With this milestone begins another phase of transition and transformation, with the inclusion of CIJ Connect, a platform designed to bring companies, products, technologies and buyers closer. As the industry grows, so must the way we communicate, share knowledge and discover solutions.

Clean India Journal will continue to bring the industry its stories, insights and developments while exploring new ways to serve its readers and partners. After 21 years, the journey continues with the same purpose: to learn from the industry, share its progress and contribute to its growth.

There is much more to discover, much more to do and much more to look forward to.
