MCD mechanised road sweeping machines

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will deploy 70 new MCD mechanised road sweeping machines across Delhi from mid-November to improve road cleanliness and help control dust pollution. The fleet will comprise 55 electric and 15 CNG-powered sweepers. Imported from Europe, the self-propelled machines offer two- and four-cubic-metre sweeping capacities and feature a third front brush for more effective removal of dust and road debris. MCD is currently conducting field trials to assess the machines’ performance under actual road conditions before city-wide deployment. The initiative is being supported by the Delhi government’s Department of Environment.
