“With rapid urbanisation, highest percentage of young generation and our Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, we see greater scope of business for all players,” says Nadeem Siddiqui, CEO-Altret Industries Pvt Ltd.
Post Indian Air Force, you have been managing the HR functions of various companies/groups. How would you rate the employability quotient of Indians?
It has been wonderful and rewarding career in HR. I am lucky to have worked for varied industries in close proximity with Business leaders/Top Management. This proximity helped me to create business friendly/specific HR solutions with enough flexibility to meet the business challenges without any hassles.
When it comes to employment, Indians are distinct because they are flexible, fast learners, loyal and hard working; they have always had greater scope for employment. Our success in areas like IT, Science & Technology not only in India but also abroad is an example of the same.
[box type=”shadow” align=”aligncenter” ]New generation is more knowledgeable and extra cautious than their fathers & forefathers about health & hygiene. This has further been accelerated by Modiji. I sincerely thank the Clean India team for their noble service to not only us but to the Nation through their series of activities.[/box]
Catering to the diverse segments such as Water Treatment, Facility Cleaning, Railway Coach Cleaning Chemicals and Carpet Cleaning, what are the latest offerings at Altret?
At Altret, continual improvement is part and parcel of our life. For existing products, we continually work on improvement in effectiveness and reduction in cost. On the other hand, we keep on adding one or two products into our portfolio, as per changing needs of the market and customers. Recently, we have added two new products: one for Solar Energy sector and other for Automobile sector. The process is on for OEM endorsement. In future, we are coming up with three new products for Drinking Water, Personal Sanitization and Wind Energy segment. We are also coming into retail market with our cost effective quality products.
The competition in India has been tough partly due to unorganised players providing low cost solutions and partly due to the increasing demand of meeting green and quality driven solutions at a cost effective price…
I am of the opinion that business is where the competition is. More than 150 years ago, Darwin has given the theory of “Survival of the Fittest”. So without bothering too much on competition, we keep ourselves on our toes to remain fit in terms of cost and customer specific solutions.
At the management level, what are the steps taken for eco-friendly product formulation, packaging and transportation as part of environmental protection?
Altret’s birth is the outcome of concern for environment. Our top management has mandated the product development team to be cautious while developing any product. Our product application requires lesser quantity of water. As we have our dealer network across India, we encourage them to use Railways for transporting or pooling the truckload for dealers from the same area. This not only saves cost but also helps us reduce shipment trips for different dealers and ultimately helps avoid further generation of carbon. We also have started the concept of super stocker who caters to the dealers of one or more State by maintaining inventory at his end.
