The antibiotics that kill helpful micro organisms and degrade the health of water bodies have found their match. A new solar powered nano filter developed by university of Cincinnati researchers, removes 64% of antibiotics from surface water in comparison to 40% of the currently used filtering technology using activated carbon. These filters having a diameter smaller than a human hair not only removes harmful antibiotics but also allows the reuse of the same after recovery.
