Outreach Programme
The key to the success of SWM system in any city is the cooperation of its citizens. Citizens and community as a whole ought to be involved in proper storage, collection and safe disposal of waste. At the same time, they should be made aware of health risks associated with improper management of solid waste. At present, the existing management of solid waste in most of the towns depends entirely on the respective municipalities and inadequate level of services is posing a serious threat to public health and environment at large. Vulnerable groups like children, the sick and the old people are at much higher risk of getting infected from communicable and non-communicable diseases. Hence, for the success of SWM project, it is essential to educate the stakeholders and seek their involvement which alone will help in changing their indifferent attitude.
A2Z Infrastructure Limited, in its endeavour to provide state-of-the-art MSW management system to the citizens has made an outreach programme as core of its activities for successful execution. The programme includes:
- Focused public awareness campaign to sensitize public for adopting waste minimization and good management practices
- Capacity building programme to strengthen the capacity of ULB officials.
