The passing away of Sunil Surkund, (Executive Director and Company Secretary at PCIL and Managing Director of PCI Environmental Services Pvt Ltd) on November 29, 2010, has left a deep void in the Indian Cleaning Industry. He was with the cleaning industry for over four decades and a very well known figure in the pest management sector
A commerce & law graduate from the Bombay University and Associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, he had served the Indian Pest Control Association earlier as the President and had been a member of its Managing Committee for the last 17 years. He had also represented India, in the capacity of Vice-President (2006-2007) on Federation of Asian & Oceania Pest Managers Association (FAOPMA) and was elected on FAOPMA Executive Committee 2008-2009 as President Elect and was elected as President of FAOPMA Executive Committee 2010-2011. He traveled widely abroad, participating in various conferences concerning the industry.
