Tribute to the“Tiger”

It was with great shock and sorrow that we at Clean India Journal received the news of the demise of Puneet Mishra on May 29. Over the years, Puneet had become a part of the VIS family. For us he was not just representing a cleaning equipment company, he was our friend and the relationship was only getting stronger. We had seen him as a storehouse of knowledge, experience and above all, emotions. He was the biggest fighter we had ever known. There is a big void now. We at Clean India Journal will miss him.

“It was just few weeks back we were sitting together and laughing over jokes… and today, it is hard to believe that I will never relive those moments with him. The almost 10 years that we have been together goes much beyond friendship, a relationship I will miss immensely,” says JP Nair, Managing Director, Virtual Info Systems Pvt. Ltd.

Puneet’s workmates at Comac India remember him being always passionate about nature’s beauty which he brought into his day-to-day work. He started working along with his studies and matured very early in his career. He moved up the value chain as a sales executive who would be chasing his monthly targets with steely determination working extensively in the market on his bike with his vacuum cleaner kit strapped behind. His hard work drew attention and before long, Puneet was a leader who spearheaded team performance through individual brilliance.

He started his career in the cleaning segment in Kolkata with Eureka Forbes and later moved to Delhi. His laser sharp focus towards his job made him grow very quickly and emerge as one of the most talked about professionals in the industry. In his 27 years in the cleaning industry, he had always been known for his aggressive work and leadership; he was donned by the name ‘Tiger’ by his colleagues. But he was never satisfied with the success he had gained and always set higher goals for himself.

He travelled across the globe looking for new opportunities. He was respected for his farsightedness and business ethics in the cleaning fraternity and had always looked for ways to add value to it. He was credited for bringing many international brands into the Indian market.

Even the international market mourns the loss of a trusted business partner and a friend. Aldo Sutter, Sutter Professionals, says: “We received this terrible news about “The Tiger Puneet”. I rarely get the opportunity to turn a business relationship into something close to friendship. But this happened with Puneet. Talking to him was nice and relaxed. A great man, a great professional and a friend. Goodbye Puneet and thank you for what you gave to me.”

“I simply have no words to comment on this terrible news. His power, his contagious energy, his indestructible will & his hunger for life, will always be a lesson for all of us. We’ll never forget,” says Federico Carrea, Sutter Professionals.

It comes as a shock to one of his close friends Aldo Barrili from Comet. “The Tiger was one of the most impressive and charismatic persons I have had the honour to know in my life and to do business with. But even more with whom I had the chance to start a beautiful friendship. Puneet passed away but his example in life and business, his energy and the courage in facing the hardest tests in life will never be forgotten by anyone of us. All those have been his friends will always use him as an example and the gentleman level to be reached. His smile and his always illuminated great mind granted me unforgettable moments and lessons. I will miss him forever.”

Laying down the foundation of Comac India was like a dream come true for him. His vison of working for the society, through the language of cleanliness and mechanised cleaning, becomes the ethos of Comac India.

“I met Puneet for the first time many years ago. To me Puneet was first a friend, I can say he was like a son, second he has been a great partner. I like to remember him smiling, saying nice words, always positive even during his hardest times. He loved life, he loved his job. After many years working as an employee he had a dream: he wanted to build something, not alone but with people he considered very close to him, with his friends. I am happy that his dream came true: COMAC India.”Giancarlo Ruffo, Group Chairman, Comac Spa
