BMC collects over 200MT waste on a single day

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) intensified its cleaning and sanitation drive, with authorities collecting an astounding 122 metric tonnes of garbage, 21 metric tonnes of bulk waste, and 66 metric tonnes of debris on a single day. A total of 336km of roads have been washed clean.

The Deep Cleaning Drive, coordinated by BMC Commissioner and administrator Bhushan Gagrani, involved 1,403 workers and employees. A total of 336km of road were carefully cleaned, first brushing and then washing with water. The increased cleanliness initiative, which has been going on for the past 23 weeks, aims to ensure cleanliness in every nook and corner of Mumbai.

Every Saturday, as part of this campaign, sanitation drives are held in all 227 wards throughout the city.
