NDMC to fend off outsourcing

North Delhi Municipal Corporation has taken over the sanitation process from the outsourced private companies, owing to increasing complaints. The outsourced agencies were engaged for street sweeping and cleaning of toilet complexes & urinals in five zones under the North Corporation.

According to Yogendra Singh, PRO, NDMC, 100km of road was being handled by private firms and the rest 80km by the Corporation itself. Despite imposing heavy penalty on the private companies, the Corporation saw no sign of improvement, hence decided to get the cleaning done in-house.
