A new style of laundry experience for business investors and customers is promised with the launch of SoftWash – a radical new cleaning process that uses the minimum amount of water and energy to achieve the maximum cleaning performance on some of the most challenging garments and delicate fabrics, without the use of extensive and potentially toxic chemicals.
Developed by Primus, a brand of Alliance Laundry Systems (ALS), the global leader in commercial laundry, SoftWash is a ‘dry-to-dry’ process that differs from ‘traditional’ wet cleaning in that it is effective on oil stains, and does not shrink, wrinkle or fade the colours of the materials being cleaned, including silk and garments unique to India. SoftWash gives current laundry operators or new investors the opportunity to expand the portfolio of garments they can clean to include garments unique to India, leather jackets, house textiles, furniture coverings and even water & fire-proof garments. This in turn provides additional revenue opportunities for existing customers, as well as the chance to further extend the customer base.
Reduction in process time allows one to do more cleaning for more customers in a typical working day, and significantly accelerate the return on investment.
Primus is making the switch to SoftWash from an operator’s existing solvent-based dry cleaning solutions as simple as possible. A turnkey service can be provided including equipment, detergents, training, webinars, marketing collateral and service/technical support. All of the equipment comes with a standard warranty to further support investors who transition to a new wet cleaning package.
The process uses water and biodegradable detergents. The system cleans wools, silks and other delicate material, including viscose, acetate, rayon, angora and cashmere. Goretex and Sympatex can also be cleaned without damaging the membrane or waterproofing.
