Bacteria and viruses abound in our environment, and we live in a microbial world. It is well known that these pathogens can survive for up to 28 days on surfaces. The epidemic brought the entire world to a halt. It demonstrated the importance of health and hygiene while also demonstrating our ineptness in these areas. Nothing precludes another wave or virus from striking the country in the near future.

Just because something is clean doesn’t imply it will stay that way. The worry of becoming sick plays on everyone’s mind the moment they touch anything, causing them to wash their hands frequently. The excessive reliance on hand sanitizers, surface disinfectants, and air purifiers to maintain hygiene levels is driving up expenses unnecessarily. Disinfectants experienced a 30-40% increase in spending across diverse sectors such as hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, wastewater treatment plants, and even regular households around the world.

HAIs (Hospital Acquired Infections) are on the rise. In the healthcare industry, increased microbial resistance to disinfectants continues to be a key concern. High touch point areas in establishments like hospitals, clinics, nursing centers etc. are a hotspot for such microbes to survive and multiply.

Any conventional disinfectant lasts for only about a few minutes or perhaps till the next touch. Different types of disinfectants have come into the picture with their set of pros and cons. Some high-level acidic disinfectants may be effective but are hazardous and not environmentally friendly. Considering this, R&D backed products with long-lasting efficacy, proven protection, certified and safe outcomes are the need of the hour.

As a solution, Rossari Biotech Ltd, India’s leading manufacturer and supplier of speciality chemicals, introduced Dr. Nanoxa, a cutting-edge, one-of-a-kind, highly sought-after, certified, and cost-effective disinfectant for frequently touched surfaces. It is an antimicrobial surface coating that effectively ‘self-sanitizes’ surfaces and provides bio-security against bacteria and viruses (including SARS-CoV-2) for up to 30 days on a single application. It has been shown to inactivate 99.9% of bacteria and viruses on surfaces, preventing their growth.

Dr. Nanoxa’s active components are a mixture of metal nanoparticles encapsulated on an intelligent polymer that provides a triple layer of protection against hazardous microorganisms for an extended period of time. Antimicrobial properties are known to exist in these metal elements. They provide stability and thus long-term protection by utilising nanotechnology’s capabilities. The product is non-hazardous, skin and environment safe, and has been tested and verified using international standards by independent NABL labs around the country.
