Once again, India made its presence at ISSA/Interclean exhibition in Amsterdam, which saw the convergence of more than 660 exhibitors from various countries. Clean India Journal has been participating in the exhibition since 2006 and this time too it made its mark by representing the Indian Cleaning Industry.

This time trade visitors from India were able to seal deals with international machine manufacturers and expand their offerings to the Indian market. Some 670 manufacturers from 42 countries presented their latest products and solutions to an international audience of industry professionals. Cleaning service providers from India and the UAE made their presence at the exhibition.

Interacting with exhibitors, JP Nair, Managing Director of Virtual Info Systems Pvt Ltd, publisher of Clean India Journal, said, “There are many manufacturers who are looking at expanding their business in the Indian market. There is a lot of buzz and hunt for ideal distributors who could meet the international standards of supplying and servicing international products in India.”

More and more European companies are looking at growing markets in India, the UAE, China and even countries like Russia and Australia. As per records, the exhibition has had visitors over 28,001, from 130 countries registering 72% of international attendance.

Besides the regular cleaning machines, equipment with specific and multiple applications were on display. There were even smaller and light-weight scrubbing machines targeting smaller applications. In the bigger machine category, scrubber driers and sweepers targeting the Asian markets attracted attention. Flooding the hygiene section were the regular products from Europe and Asia, besides some innovative sensor based accessories introduced to ensure hygiene levels.

Innovation Award

VERMOP Salmon was named the Overall Winner of the ninth Amsterdam Innovation Award for its Mag system. The Mag system brings an entirely new way of attaching mop covers to the mop holder – its ease of use, hygienic touch-free operation, flexibility, intuitiveness and ergonomics.

The winner in the ‘Machines, Accessories and Components’ category was Kärcher with its B80W, while Alpheios’s Infection Prefention Monitor was identified as the most innovative product in the ‘Cleaning Management and Training Solutions’ category. The first year’s ‘Visitor’s Choice’ Award went to Alpheios with its IPM.

The next ISSA/Interclean Amsterdam takes place from May 6-9, 2014, when it will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
